DIMORIAN REVIEW RELEASES THE FIRST ISSUE OF ‘DIMORIAN ANTHOLOGY OF POETRY’ DEDICATED TO 'SUDHAKANTHA' DADASAHEB DR. BHUPEN HAZARIKA

In the fond memory of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika
Releasing our first online collection of poetry is a unique experience. It evokes a feeling of great happiness and contentment.

We invited poems for submission through our website giving the timeline of June 30, 2014. In the process, we have received an overwhelming response from poets all over the world.

We named the collection as 'Dimorian Anthology of Poetry' (DAP) and we take this opportunity to congratulate all the poets
for contributing their poems and also for their unconditional association with our online publication. We are truly thankful to them for their creative support and cooperation in making our effort a successful one. Their words make our journey in the world.

We also extend our good wishes and heartiest season’s greetings to all the readers, well-wishers including contributors and remain thankful to them for their love, inspiration and cooperation to our work and endeavour.

Dimorian Review, a bi-monthly e-magazine, is an initiative undertaken for online publication and promotion of all vital aspects of social life like art, culture, literature, tourism, etc. The efforts and services we put for it are truly voluntary in nature; but we always try our best for covering the uncovered.

This special issue of poetry has been dedicated to a famous and larger-than-life personality of India who had excelled in many genres of art and culture. The undying maestro excelled as a singer, lyricist, composer, poet, artist, film maker and director and whose creations touched the deepest ethos of social life. He is no more with us, but the very pulse of his words and voices dwells in every mind and give strength to his followers, and he is 'Sudhakantha' Dadasaheb Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika (1926-2011) wrote and sung mainly in Assamese language, which are marked with humanity and universal brotherhood. The theme of his songs are based on harmony and universal justice and understanding. He became popular mostly in the Indian states of Assam and West Bengal. He was popular in Bangladesh also and all over the world. His songs have been translated and sung in many languages, but mostly in Bengali and Hindi. His contribution with regard to culture and folk music of Assam and the North-East India in carving a niche for itself is commendable.

As we release the first issue of ‘Dimorian Anthology of Poetry’ on July 7, 2014, we would like to sum it up with the very quintessential of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the ever-echoing lines that uphold the maestro’s vision of humanity, universal brotherhood and world citizenship:

We are in the same boat brother,
We are in the same boat brother,
If you tip one end,
You gonna rock the other
It’s the same boat brother.
O’ Lord looked down from your holy place
Said Lord you mean, what a sea of space
What a place to launce does human race does human race
So he built him a boat for a mixed-up crew,
With eyes of Black and Brown and Blue.
And thats the reason you and I
Up just one world and just one sky
We are in the same boat brother,
We are in the same boat brother, .....
