Lutfa Hanum Salima Begum

Lutfa Hanum Salima Begum is a noted Assamese poet. She occupies a distinctive position in the field of Assamese poetry. She has published five collection of poetry. Her poems have been translated into other languages-English, Hindi, Nepali, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Uzbek etc.

She has received the Munin Borkotoky Award in 1996 for her second collection of poetry.

She has translated Chitra Mudgal’s international award winning novel Awaan into Assamese. She also has translated many Bangla poems into Assamese.

Her poems have been collected in various important poetry collections of India.She has published more than ten research papers.

She has also acted as a visiting faculty at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.She presently teaches Assamese literature in Cotton College, Guwahati , Assam, India
