ONGC, Assam Asset launches 'ONGC Super 30’ under its CSR initiative

'ONGC Super 30' launched
‘ONGC Super 30’ is a unique project for the under privileged students. It is one kind of residential coaching programme for the IIT/NIT/NIIT and Engineering aspirants. The duration of the programme is of 11 months. The project includes free boarding, lodging, education, guidance,
and training for the enrolled students.


It is noteworthy that ONGC has been supporting many projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme including some skill up-gradation programmes like computer education, vocational education, self-help group, etc.

Keeping in view the need of support for the under privileged, this type of educational programme, viz., ‘ONGC Super 30’ has been launched in Sivasagar district. The project has been formally inaugurated on 4th July, 2014 by Mr. K. S. Jamestin, Director (HR) of ONGC in presence of Mr. S. S. Minakshi Sundaram, Dy. Commissioner and Mr. Bojay G. Kuligam, SP of Sivasagar district; Mr. B. K. Baruah, ED-Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset; Mr. S. K. Shahi, ED-CSRL and other senior officials of ONGC and district administration.

The programme will be run by the Centre of Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL), New Delhi on turnkey basis as a pilot project with the focus area of education under the CSR project of ONGC. The annual project expenditure will be of around INR 67.41 lakhs for the year 2014-15. The project is expected to cater the need of the aspirants as well as students having background of under privileged section of society, whose parental income is below INR 1.5 lakh per annum and falls under the operational areas of ONGC.
