The Walk

By Bidisha Devi

Walking down that lonely lane
With the star studded heaven above
It’s been quite a while now
And I have to walk and walk

I stumbled and fumbled at times
It hurts to be hurt
I gazed up and saw the twinkles
And I knew I have to walk and walk.

The shivering cold wind
I shudder with every thunder
A few moment of calm breeze
And there awaits a storm even bigger.
This wasn’t the life that was meant to be
I had chosen my own route
Now whatever awaits behind that closed door
Accept that with open arms
I look up at the heaven
And yet again walk and walk…
