About a song

Translator: Dr. Sambhu Nath Chakravarty

It was an October night sky
That looked like a grim dark face
And eyebrows painted dark with awkward hands.

A mysterious glance failed to restrain
A crazy scream.

I’ve been waiting for you since long
Although green  leaves fell off many a time....

Who made the temple bells chime so unrhythmically?
The distance melted down....
Several bells tore off and got lost....
Great God! the unruly calf!

Curiosity and expectations perhaps
Warmed up the threshold.
