About Dzukou Valley: The Dzukou valley is a heavenly location surrounded by green hills, natural caves and rocks. It is stated that the Dzukou valley is located at about 2438 metres above sea level. Behind the Japfu range, Dzukou valley is situated at the easily reachable distance of about 30 km south of Kohima, the capital of the north-eastern state of Nagaland in India. The Dzukou valley is in the south-western part of Nagaland.

During the period from June to September, the entire Dzukou valley looks like a carpet of wild flowers. Hence, the best period to visit this valley is considered during June to September. The valley is considered as one of the most ideal place for nature lovers where only peaceful ambiance fills the souls every time. And swirling streams which loiter through Dzukou valley freezes during extreme winter.

The Dzukou valley is untouched by civilisation for its flora and splendid beauty and hence, it is called the valley of celestial charm. It has a tempting appeal to all who gaze it. In summer, the wild herbs and shrubs sprout along the stream banks. The Lilies in white and pink, euphorbias, aconitums and hundreds of other botanical species in varied colours adorn the valley in monsoon.

Though Dzukou is famous for its bio-diversity, the predominant plant is the tough bamboo brush because of which it looks like a justly mown lawn from far away. The Rhododendrons of different colours beatify the hills and hillocks abounding the valley.

How to reach Dzukou Valley:To reach the exact location of the valley there is no other option except walking and trekking the stiff slope of valleys. There is no exact road enjoining the real location. From the airport or railhead visitors can take taxi or bus to reach the spot from where the trekking as well as walking can be started along National Highway 39.

The NH-39 is close to the Dzukou Valley and this highway is connected with rest of the India via Guwahati, Assam. The nearest Airport as well as Railhead is located at Dimapur from where taxi or bus is available towards the Dzokou valley.

Where to stay in Dzukou valley? Dzukou valley is the perfect place of Camping. This is also considered as one of the best trekking spots in the North-Eastern Region.

Dzukou valley is surrounded by hills and hillocks, natural caves and rocks and thus, it is considered as an ideal place for camping. The caves of rocks are very wonderful place for camping and night stay.

In spite of the difficult terrain and non-availability of facilities, this is one of the most frequented trekking spots in the entire North East India. Its emerald green rolling hills interlinked by gentle flowing streams are trekker's fancy. A few tourist rest houses are constructed for trekkers. There are circuit house and PWD bungalows for the tourist come from several parts of the world.
