SUBANSIRI

Dipok Kr. Doley

I have never loved
Any other river like
I love you....

I wandered aimlessly in
Search of your enduring
Affection among the white sands and
The Kohuwa weeds......

Subansiri....
It was not your fault
It was mine

Its 23rd September 2016
I have decided to leave you
I search of greener pastures
In seach of new life
Where have I lost the
House of my dreams
Where have my days of youth gone
Fields lost
Gardens lost
The wind that inspired
New life cease to exist
Today I see the shadow of enmity and
Indifference on your banks
Subansiri....
You did not think, even for once
For the ones who lost everything in your bosom
Like me and the sad plight
Of those who loved you

I have heard about the Dotung, Lagru Korong
Where I have to start a new lease of life with
My loved ones
Who knows chunks of erosion may erode
My mights and days too

Subansiri...
How can I forget
My beloved Changghar
The tombs of my grandparents
The tales of Jangki and Panei?
