IN SEARCH OF A LIFE

Composed by: Julie Baruah
Translation: Bibekananda Choudhury

Just assume running into you
While walking along the footpath

Poured the heart out
Laughed heartily to make others look back
I wish to find such a life

I am in search of a simple life
With a sky full of stars overhead
With a river of moonlight
Streaming through the gaps of the reed wall
Rather than the luxurious artificial life
On the high rise buildings
With a mournful and timid look
Ensnared in the shackles of slavery

I want a life full of life
Changing the definition of sorrowfulness
Rather than
Fragile happy life
Enwrapping me like a weed

Where shall I find
Where shall I find such a life
Where the song singing the paeans of life
Will come to life
