Origin in Assamese: Lokesh Boro
Translation: Bibekananda Choudhury

Are you all listening?
My soulful cry
For the Earth locked up in a room with the door shut
To pacify my heart
You need not beat the drums
Let the battle plan to win the election-fight
Be stopped forever

Go back a couple of steps and look
The golden days of our great grandfathers
Today all these are just a fallen leaf of memory
Dreams of fresh generations are gradually shattered
Under the heavy feet of the powerful stallion of economic growth
The environment is located at the edge of the gorge of erosion
Are you able to understand the situation?

I have set my foot
In the valley of death built by you
How dare you?
Do you have the ability to comprehend
The words coming out of my lips
But now
The world has woken up
Change is coming one step at a time
We’d keep a hawk’s eye on you all
Whether you like it or not
