Exclusive Interview with Miss Jyotirmoyee Saikia, HSLC Exam 2014 Topper in 4th Position

Miss Jyotirmoyee Saikia has been secured the 4th Position in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2014 scoring 577 marks (96.16%). The result of the HSLC Examination 2014 was declared 28th May, 2014 which was conducted by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) during February-March, 2014. Born on 28th December, 1997, Miss Jyotirmoyee studied in an Assamese medium school, namely, L.B. Shankardev Sishu Vidya Niketon, Demow in Sivasagar district.

Miss Jyotirmoyee is a daughter of Shri Karunananda Saikia of the village Santipur, Demow in Sivasagar district of Assam. Shri Karunananda Saikia is a businessman. Parents, other family members, well-wishers, friends including her school are proudly happy on her outstanding achievement.

A total of 3,69,075 students appeared in the HSCL Exam 2014, out of which 2,26,685 students emerged successful. A total of 39,906 students secured First division and 82,793 and 1,04,886 students emerged as Second and Third division respectively. Top 10 Positions emerged by 25 students. Shri Achyut Ranjan Gogoi of Nazira Jatiya Vidyalaya who secured 585 marks topped in the 1st Position. The Government of Assam has already announced that all the position holders will be given opportunity to visit of NASA.

Dimorian Review tried to have an interaction with a few topper students and on behalf of Dimorian Review, Shri Chandanjyoti Phukan coordinated for conducting an exclusive interview with Miss Jyotirmoyee Saikia in which she has told many aspects behind her success. Following are the excerpts that she shared in interaction.

DIMORIANREVIEWFirst of all, Dimorian Review congratulates you for your outstanding
achievement in HSLC Examination 2014. Would you like to share about your hobby/hobbies?
Jyotirmoyee: Thanks. Yes, my hobby is reading and traveling.

DR: You have shown outstanding performance in the HSLC examination.
What are the subjects you have studied in Class-X?
Jyotirmoyee: Assamese, English, General Mathematics, General Science, Social science and Advance Mathematics.

DR: How did you prepare for HSLC examination? Did you follow any
reading schedule for each subject?
Jyotirmoyee: I studied my all subjects very clearly, punctually and thoroughly. I have not studied my subjects with a schedule. When I thought that I have to read that subject then I picked up the same.

DR: How many hours you devoted in study per day for preparing the HSLC
examination? Was it sufficient enough for preparing the HSLC
Jyotirmoyee: There was nothing any time table in my study. The time depends upon the student.

DR: Did you have a dream of achieving the position that you have
obtained in the HSLC examination?
Jyotirmoyee: I hoped for a better result but not like this.

DR: Would you like to say something about your success mantra?
Jyotirmoyee: Behind this success there was my concentrated study, blessing of my parents, family members, my teachers, my well-wishers, encourage of my friends and the Almighty.

DR: Who is the sole inspiration for your achievement? To whom
particularly you like to give the credit for your achievement -
parents/teachers/friends/all of them/any other else?
Jyotirmoyee: All of them.

DR: In HS what is your interest to study - Science/Arts/Commerce?
Jyotirmoyee: I would like to study Science.

DR: Where do you planning to take admission for study HS?
Jyotirmoyee: I would like to study in Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh.

DR: After HS what will be your career interest? What is the aim of your life?
Jyotirmoyee: Firstly to become a good citizen and after that a Doctor.

DR: Do you agree that the syllabus you have studied in school is
alright? Or, would you like to say for inclusion of any Subject/Topic
in the syllabus? Or, did you find any Subject/Topic irrelevant in the
Jyotirmoyee: The syllabus which I read was OK, but somehow it should be
compared with the C.B.S.E. or N.C.E.R.T. I would like to say that there should be inclusion of History and Geography and G.K. of Assam. No, there is nothing like this (irrelevant).

DR: What will be the message you would like to share with the readers
or, a message for the students presently studying in Class-X.
Jyotirmoyee: Keep study concentrated, thoroughly and punctually and I
would like to give my best wishes for all the students of Class-X.
