ICAREAN

Dr Merry Baruah

He was so full of himself
Little did he know
That he had been armed
With waxen wings.
His overreaching triumphs
Luring, as they were
Of mythic proportions
Led him to believe
That, all he amassed
With his arms, all that his
Vision encompassed –
Material and abstract
Seemed so perfect – always there
To be with him, forever
Fooled him into believing
As if all was so Real
Ah! modern Icarus dear
Rest in peace now
Till Eternity
